In 2012, D’Ieteren Auto decided to move away from their Lotus platform (considered as obsolete) that was used for e-mail, as well as a large number of home-made applications.
The platform of choice was based on the Microsoft Office365, that includes Exchange OnLine, Sharepoint OnLine, and Lync Online, hence providing users with a modern, state-of-the-art environment that is build for the future (with for example easy mobile access). Dieteren looked for one partner that could take care of the complete project in a fixed price model for both the infrastructure part as well as the application transformation part.

The distributed makes account for some 22% of the new car market and one million vehicles on the road. It sells used vehicles through two My Way centres on the outskirts of Brussels and 125 dealerships affiliated to the My Way Authorized Distributors network.

Solution

Gfi has provided a total solution, from set-up of the target environment, the design of migration procedures including the setup of a Gfi cloud based mobile device management solution, up to the migration of Lotus applications and the administration of the new Office 365 environment. All migrated Lotus applications were redesigned using .Net and sharepoint technologies and current data were migrated to the new plateform. Gfi has provided all these services both on-site and remotely leveraging its complete offerings to bring this project to a success.
